Friends of Nepal – Adelaide Inc. (FONAI) is a registered Australian charity. We began our scholarship program in 2013, following a visit to Nepal and seeing first hand how disadvantage of birth is perpetuated by lack of educational opportunities.

FONAI is partnered with registered NGO ‘Canopy Nepal’ to manage the program in Nepal. Canopy Nepal employs a manager to carry out the daily operations of the program & oversees the selection of students for scholarship.

Funding
FONAI is partnered with registered NGO, ‘Children’s Future Fund’ in Germany who provide funding support for course fees for several of our students.
FONAI Projects
FONAI is partnered with Child Development Society (CDS) in Nepal to facilitate funding for Self Employment Education Program for illiterate women in remote villages in Nepal.
All partnerships are reviewed annually.

Thankyou to the Rotary Club of Lindisfarne, in stunning Hobart, for its support of two vocational scholarships for our recent Year 12 graduates. The lucky students can now begin preparing for future IT & Hospitality Studies.
These generous Rotarians are also funding the Bachelor in Developmental Finance studies for a visually impaired FESSHIP student who would otherwise not be able to continue his studies.

About Our Program Manager
Deekshak Bhattarai is the Program Manager for FESSHIP program. He was appointed in July 2018.
Deekshak recently graduated from Tri Chandra Multiple Campus and studied BSc Environmental Science.
